Kerr Connect Services
Comprehensive School-Based Services Related to Special Education
At Kerr Connect, we provide school-based services related to special education that help exceptional children thrive. Our licensed providers partner with schools to ensure every student receives the support they need on time, with compliance, and at the highest standard of care.
Speech Therapy (SLP)
Our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) provide school-based speech therapy services targeting articulation, language, voice, fluency, social interaction, and overall communication competence. In addition, our SLPs complete comprehensive speech-language evaluations, develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and monitor progress via data collection that aligns with IEP goals and district standards.
Occupational Therapy (OT)
Kerr Connect’s Occupational Therapists support students in improving fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, self-regulation, and functional independence within daily school routines. Using an individualized and evidence-based approach, our Occupational Therapists help students develop the skills they need to fully participate and succeed in the classroom.
Physical Therapy (PT)
Our Physical Therapists (PTs) provide school-based physical therapy services that help students improve mobility, balance, coordination, and strength. Our Physical Therapists partner with school teams to ensure that students can safely access the school environment and create individualized supports that enhance students’ physical independence and engagement throughout the school day.
School Psychology
Kerr Connect’s School Psychology services focus on supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of all students. School psychologists collaborate with educators, families, and support teams to assess learning needs via comprehensive evaluations and develop effective interventions, accommodations, and supports to facilitate student success.
Teachers of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (TOD/HH)
Our Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TOD/HHs) provide specialized instruction to students with hearing differences, helping them access the curriculum and fully participate in school life. Services may include direct instruction, language development, listening and communication strategies, and consultation with teachers and families to ensure accommodations and technology are used effectively.
Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Kerr Connect’s Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) provide individualized instruction and adaptive tools that help students with visual impairments build the skills needed for academic success and daily independence. TVIs provide instruction in areas such as reading and writing with assistive technology or braille, visual efficiency, orientation and mobility support, and environmental adaptations. By collaborating closely with educators and families, they ensure that each student can access curriculum materials and fully participate in the school community.
Additional Specialized Services
Audiology:
Assessment and monitoring of hearing, management of amplification devices, and optimization of classroom listening environments.
Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC):
Support for students who use communication systems beyond spoken language. Specialists assess communication needs, implement individualized AAC tools such as speech-generating devices or symbol-based systems, and provide ongoing training for students, staff, and families.
Bilingual Speech Evaluations:
Provide accurate, culturally responsive assessments for students who speak more than one language. Conducted by qualified bilingual speech-language pathologists or through collaboration with trained interpreters, these evaluations distinguish language difference from language disorder to ensure fair, appropriate identification of communication needs.
